Overview

Critical points of entry and highly sensitive areas need extra protection. Here, Schlage cylinders with added Primus features provide a "next level" upgrade of security that works within your existing Schlage key system. Even open, Classic Obverse key systems can regain patent protection and top levels of administrative and physical security anywhere Primus cylinders are applied.

Primus keys and cylinders take different paths to patent protection depending on the keyway family. For the Classic Obverse family, which includes the famous Schlage C keyway, it is the Primus RP (Raised Pin) design that carries the patent. For all Everest 29 keyway families, whether in standard or Primus XP cylinders, it is the Everest 29 patent that carries protection to the year 2029.
