ALLEGION TO DEBUT ENGAGE™ GATEWAY AT ASIS INTERNATIONAL IN ANAHEIM

Leading Global Security Provider to Host Internet of Things Panel Discussion, Highlight Cutting-Edge Products

CARMEL, IND. (Sept. 8, 2015) – Allegion, a leading global security products and solutions provider, will attend the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International 61st Annual Seminar and Exhibits, held Sept. 28-Oct. 1, in Anaheim, Calif.

Allegion will be located at Booth 2838 inside the Anaheim Convention Center, where the company will debut ENGAGE™ Gateway and highlight other innovative products in front of 20,000-plus security professionals at the world’s most influential security conference.

ENGAGE™ Gateway is designed to be used with devices that feature ENGAGE™ technology, including Schlage® NDE Series wireless locks, to deliver real-time networked connectivity with NDE alliance partner systems. ENGAGE™ Gateway has a versatile design to fit almost anywhere and works seamlessly to leverage existing IP-based or RS-485 infrastructure for maximum flexibility.

“Each Gateway can support multiple devices for a wide range of applications, including interior suite entries, offices, conference rooms and sensitive storage areas,” said Ben Hopkins, product marketing manager at Allegion. “ENGAGE™ technology was designed from the ground up with security in mind. We’re looking forward to showcasing it at ASIS because we believe ENGAGE™ provides customers with a secure, dependable experience.”

The Gateway is just one example of how advancements in technology continue to affect the security industry. Security professionals are in the midst of transition as electronic solutions rise in popularity, coinciding with the Internet of Things (IoT). More and more manufacturers are developing electronic solutions – such as the NDE Series – to help improve security and efficiency.

Rob Martens, futurist and director of connectivity platforms at Allegion, is an expert on the growing trend of IoT. Martens will moderate ‘Demystifying the IoT – How to Successfully Deploy in Commercial Physical Security,’ a panel discussion on Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m.-noon PST inside the Solution Theatre.

The panel of experts in commercial physical security will share their industry knowledge to discuss real-world barriers to commercial IoT adoption and the most effective strategies to extract maximum benefit for facility managers, architects, building consultants and end users.

“The Internet of Things can be impactful in the security world, but just like many developments, barriers can arise,” Martens said. “Our well-respected panelists will demystify these barriers and provide attendees with plausible tactics to take back with them after the conference.”
