In response to a market need for improved K-12 perimeter security Von Duprin created the Remote Undogging (RU) and Remote Monitoring (RM) options.
In schools with a networked access control system, it is estimated that only half of secondary doors are connected, because the majority of available security funds are focused on the main entrances1. Not surprisingly, over 55% of schools reported that their secondary doors were frequently left unlocked or propped open, with 22% stating that this occurs on a weekly or even daily basis2. This results in vulnerabilities that compromise the building’s everyday security and limits the ability of administrators to effectively lockdown the facility in an emergency.
To address this need Von Duprin created the Remote Undogging (RU) and Remote Monitoring (RM) options. The Von Duprin® RU option is a battery powered wireless solution that enables remote undogging and door status monitoring. It enhances perimeter security by providing electronic override of mechanical dogging for emergency facility lockdown. The RM option is a sensor only configuration for exit only or fire rate doors that require monitoring. It provides visibility to request to exit (RX), latchbolt monitor (LX) and door position switch (DPS). Both are modular kits that can be added to any existing Von Duprin 98/99 or 33A/35A Series device. They connect to Allegion’s Software Alliance Members via IP or RSI connection to the ENGAGE™ gateway.

Enables remote undogging for daily lock-up or emergency lockdown
Allows you to initiate undogging from a secure location
Complimentary to existing access control solutions and enables more comprehensive perimeter lockdown
Does not require a change to process or addition of scheduling because the ability to manually dog and undog remains
Electronic override of mechanical dogging provides a back-up for manual processes
Provides peace of mind with a comprehensive view of door status that includes request to exit (RX), latchbolt monitoring (LX) and door position switch (DPS)
Cost effective modular kit retrofits existing 98/99 and 33A/35A series devices
Wireless battery powered solution eliminates the need to run wires and reduces the number of components required
Access control managed via an IP or RSI/RS-485 connection to the ENGAGE gateway allows you to add on to your existing system
