Restrooms

touchless restroom entrance application

Non-latching, non-rated restroom doors are typically closed, unlatched and unlocked. These doors can be accessed manually by either using the push plate or pull plate to open the door. In this case for a touchless experience, the door can also be opened by activating the touchless actuator on either side of the door to cause the door to swing open.

Interior common areas

Non-latching, non-rated interior common area door typically closed, unlatched and secured by a magnetic lock.  Entrance into common area door is accomplished by presenting a valid credential to the reader, allowing the access control system to release the magnetic lock and enable the exterior touchless actuator. The touchless actuator exterior, when enabled to, will cause the auto operator to swing the door open. From the interior, the motion sensor, emergency release button or fire alarm, causes the magnetic lock to release allowing exit. The interior actuator is always enabled to cause the magnetic lock to release and swing the door open via the auto operator.

Inner common latching

Interior cross-corridor

Inner cross-corridor

Interior cross-corridor fire-rated pair of doors with an auto operator are typically closed, latched and locked from the exterior. Presenting a valid credential to the reader allows entry to the area by signaling the electric latch retraction panics to retract and enabling the exterior touchless actuator. Free egress is always enabled by either pressing the panic bar to retract the latches manually or by activating the interior touchless actuators to signal the electric latch retraction panics to retract and the doors to swing open. If the fire alarm is activated, the exit device latches will extend to positively latch the opening closed but will still allow manual operation. The door position switches and request-to-exit switches in the panic bars may be remotely monitored by others.

Exterior secured

An exterior pair of non-rated doors secured by exit devices are normally closed, latched, and locked. Presenting a valid credential to the exterior reader will cause the access control system to signal the electric latch retraction panics to retract and enable the exterior touchless actuator. Free egress is always permitted by either manually pressing the panic bars to exit or activating the interior touchless actuators to cause the panic bars to electrically retract and swing the doors open via the auto operator. The door position switches and request-to-exit switches in the panic bars may be remotely monitored by others.
