The Living Building Challenge

Developed by the International Living Future Institute™, the Living Building Challenge is a green building certification program and sustainable design framework that visualizes the ideal for the built environment. Through this program, they hope to develop buildings that give more than they take, creating a positive impact on the human and natural systems that interact with them.

The International Living Future Institute communicates transparency through Declare Labels. Declare is a transparency platform and product database that tells where a product comes from, what it is made of, and where it goes at the end of its life. To support the Living Building Challenge, Allegion provides Declare labels for products.
